Senior Detective Armando “Mando” Santa Anna passed away on Sunday, March 15, at the age of 52, due to complications from a preplanned surgery related to a work-related injury.
A dedicated public servant, Detective Santa Anna served the El Monte Police Department for 24 years. Throughout his career, he held a variety of assignments, including patrol officer, school resource officer, and most recently, senior detective. His unwavering commitment to both his department and the community he served left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
